near the "swinging bridge" at Grandfather Mountain,
North Carolina. About The TripThis year team member
Dave Jones offered his mountain home in West Jefferson,
NC as our base of operations. We started Sunday slowly
with a game of disc golf, and then lunch and a few brews
in Durham, NC. From there we drove to West Jefferson.
Monday we visited Grandfather Mountain. Several of the
team hiked the extremely difficult trail headup up from
the top parking lot. Tuesday started with another hike,
this time to nearby Mount Jefferson. After the
all-you-can-eat lunch we found a very difficult disc
golf course. Wednesday we drove to the southwest corner
of North Carolina for rafting on the Nantahala. Thursday
we headed to Virginia for cycling on the Virginia
Creeper Trail outside of Damascus.
